Why You Should Earn Your Law Degree Online

Between work and family life, many people just do not have time or resources to attend traditional college classes.  However, if you want to pursue a degree in law, it is possible to obtain a law degree online.

There are certain undeniable advantages to obtaining your law degree online. Whether you’re looking to enhance your current professional profile or create a new career path, law school is an ideal way for people from all walks of life to earn an advanced degree that fits their professional and personal goals.

It costs less to obtain a Law Degree online.

Tuition savings is a major advantage to pursuing an online law degree.  The average for a traditional law degree at a customary law school (for full 3 year term) is approximately $100,000. Whereas, the approximate tuition to obtain a law degree online is $30,000. In other words, unlike at a traditional school, online schools do not require students to burden themselves with a lot of debt.

It’s easier to gain admission to an online Law Degree Program.

It is much easier to obtain admission to an online law school vs. a traditional law school. For some online schools the LSAT is not even required, and applicants instead have to take the school’s own entrance test and complete a telephone interview.

There’s no Commute.

In the case of a traditional law school, or even a part time/night program, you are required to appear at the law school. The travel time between your house or work and school could be significant, and could be the deciding factor in you not attending law school. However, if you enroll in an online law school you eliminate the stress, time and expense of a long commute.

You are not limited to a specific location to learn when you attend law school online. You can fit your learning in when it’s most convenient for you. That could be while at home with your kids, away on vacation or evenings after work. Anywhere and anytime you can find access to the internet can be a educational opportunity.

Some things to consider when seeking a law degree online.

Be sure to keep in mind when researching schools that offer a law degree online, there are many things to consider. Because studying online is so different from actually sitting in a classroom, you want to check to see how much access you have to professors and classmates.

Make sure the curriculum suits your specific needs. It’s important that your online education be just a comprehensive as that which is being offered to traditional students.

Due to State Bar of California registration, students of ALU are qualified to sit for the California State Bar Exam. As rules and regulations vary by state, it is important for you to research and know the rules for the state in which you wish to practice.

After graduation from the Juris Doctor program, ALU students are qualified to sit for the California Bar Examination and upon successful completion, the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam and ultimately become members of the State Bar of California and be eligible to practice in California and Federal courts.

In Summary

While it may appear that attending an online law school has its challenges, the benefits of obtaining your law degree online are many, and if you do your homework ahead of time, you can choose the law school that best suits your specific needs..
