Marines Education

As a military-friendly institution, Abraham Lincoln University accepts a number of Marines education benefits for the school’s programs. The primary benefit used by Marine Corps personnel for Marines online education programs is Tuition Assistance (TA), which is explained in depth on our Marines Tuition Assistance page. Marines Education Programs

    Marines education training comes in a variety of forms, some of which you may be eligible for and can be used at Abraham Lincoln University. Here is information on some of the programs to help encourage Marines college enrollment:

  • The Marine Corps College Fund – Marines completing an active duty contract of 48 months or more can become eligible for the Marine Corps College Fund. Fund recipients may be able to receive up to $50,000 for college tuition, Marines education classes and other expenses.
  • Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Sponsored Programs
  • The Admiral Mike Boord Seaman-to-Admiral Educational Assistance Program – This program provides grants and interest-free loans to active duty Navy and Marine Corps personnel in the Enlisted Commissioning Program, the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Program, and the Medical Enlisted Commissioning program. Funds are up to $2,000 per year for tuition and other educational expenses.
  • Spouse Tuition Aid Program (STAP) – The NMCRS offers the STAP program to spouses of Naval personnel and Marines stationed overseas. STAP is available for full- or part-time students working toward vocational certificates, undergraduate degrees, and graduate degrees at a maximum of $300 per semester or $1,500 per year for undergraduates and $350 and $1,750 for grad students.
  • VADM E.P. Travers Scholarship and Loan Program – Spouses of active duty members or dependent children of active or retired members of the Navy or Marine Corps may apply to this program, providing 1000 grants each year at $2,000 each, and interest-free student loans of up to $3,000.
  • Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation – This foundation provides scholarship opportunities for dependent children of Marines seeking higher education.
