Coast Guard Spouse Benefits

Coast Guard MyCAA Education Benefits

As a military-friendly school, Abraham Lincoln University not only accepts Coast Guard education benefits for active duty service members and veterans, but for spouses and other dependents as well. Among the benefits accepted are the Coast Guard MyCAA program, explained further down the page. Before we get to MyCAA, here are a couple of other options available for Coast Guard spousal benefits which may be of use at Abraham Lincoln University:

  • Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) – The CGMA program provides Supplemental Education Grants (SEGs), which can give up to $250 per year to be used to cover spouse and family member educational expenses outside of the realm of tuition.
  • CGMA Loans – The CGMA also offers loans for education to Coast Guard members and their families.
  • Additional Education Assistance – The Coast Guard provides a Coast Guard spouse benefit allowing spouses to take CLEP, DANTES and other tests at no charge.

Coast Guard MyCAA Education Benefits
Abraham Lincoln University is eligible to receive Coast Guard MyCAA program benefits. MyCAA, standing for Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts, is a program paying up to $4,000 over two fiscal years for military spouses to study toward certification, diploma, and associate degree programs which will help them in developing a portable career. Diploma programs in paralegal studies and criminal justice and associate degree programs in paralegal studies, criminal justice and business administration are good fits for the Coast Guard MyCAA program.
