Online Degree Program Requirements

> Certificate, Diploma, and Undergraduate Degree Program Requirements

 

Students applying for admission to a diploma, certificate, or undergraduate program at Abraham Lincoln University must submit the following items:

 

  1. Proof of High School Graduation
    • Official or Unofficial high school transcript or copy of diploma;
    • Official transcript from an accredited college or university indicating that the applicant fulfilled the requirements for graduation from an accredited high school;
    • Official General Educational Development (GED) certificate or other approved high school equivalency certificates;
    • Military service members and veterans may provide a copy of their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214), Record of Military Processing (DD Form 1966), or Military Branch records that document high school graduation or equivalent.
  2. Current government issued photo ID
  3. A resume, curriculum vitae, or list of professional accomplishments.
  4. Transcripts of previously earned credit to be evaluated for possible transfer to an ALU program. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted to expedite transfer credit evaluation. Students who are admitted to the university must submit official transcripts no later than 30 days from the start of the course. Evaluation fee to have previously earned credit evaluated for possible transfer toward an ALU degree program is waived for military students enrolling under the U.S. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance (TA) program and all U.S. military veterans.
  5. Students applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) Educational benefits must provide: (1) DD214 Form and (2) Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. If unable to obtain official transcripts, please contact the admissions office.

 

 

> Graduate Degree Program Requirements (Non-J.D.)

 

Students applying for admission to a graduate degree program (other than the J.D. program) at Abraham Lincoln University must submit the following items:

 

  1. For master’s degree programs, evidence of a bachelor’s degree in the form of an official transcripts from a col­lege or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign college or university. Transcripts of previous baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate earned credit must be sent directly to Abraham Lincoln University by the granting institution(s). Unofficial transcripts will be accepted to expedite transfer credit evaluation. Students who are admitted to the university must submit official transcripts no later than 30 days from the start of the course. Evaluation fee to have previously earned credit evaluated for possible transfer toward an ALU degree program (other than the doctorate program) will be waived for military students enrolling under the U.S. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance (TA) program and all U.S. military veterans (other than doctorate program).
  2. For doctorate degree program, evidence of a master’s degree in the form of an official transcript from a col­lege or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign college or university. Transcripts of previous baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate earned credit must be sent directly to Abraham Lincoln University by the granting institution(s). Unofficial transcripts will be accepted to expedite transfer credit evaluation. Students who are admitted to the university must submit official transcripts no later than 30 days from the start of the course.
  3. For doctorate degree, three (3) completed Doctoral Applicant Reference Forms and Statement of Purpose in seeking the degree.
  4. Current government issued photo ID
  5. A resume, curriculum vitae or list of professional accomplishments. While professional work experience is not a condition of admission to the doctorate program, applicants must provide evidence of any previous professional work experience prior to formal admission.
  6. Students applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) Educational benefits must provide: (1) DD214 Form and (2) Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. If unable to obtain official transcripts, please contact the admissions office.

 

> Juris Doctor Program Requirements

 

Students applying for admission to Abraham Lincoln University must satisfy the following law school prerequisites.

  1. For the bar-eligible Juris Doctor program, regular applicants must submit evidence of a bachelor’s degree in the form of an official transcript from a col­lege or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign college or university. All degrees earned from institutions outside of the US must be presented with an official translation for degree and subject equivalency comparable to instruction in the United States, provided by a credential evaluation service approved by the State Bar of California.
    • Transcripts of previous baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate earned credit must be sent directly to Abraham Lincoln University by the granting institution(s). Students who are admitted to the university must submit official transcripts no later than 30 days from the start of the course.
    • Students applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) Educational benefits must provide: (1) DD214 Form and (2) Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. If unable to obtain official transcripts, please contact the admissions office.
  2. Personal Statement.
  3. Online Assessment Test or evidence of LSAT passage with a score of 140 or above.
  4. A resume, curriculum vitae or list of professional accomplishments. While professional work experience is not a condition of admission to the doctorate program, applicants must provide evidence of any previous professional work experience prior to formal admission.
  5. Two Academic, Professional, or Personal Letters of Recommendation
  6. Current government issued photo ID.
  7. Additional steps are required for students who have prior law school history, international students, or those who may have issues that otherwise touch on qualifications and potential.

 

Social Security Exemption Form

 

Applicants for admission are required to provide a social security number at the time they apply. Applicants who do not qualify for a social security number may request that they be exempted from the requirement by using the form shown below.
